Description
Rufus Portable is a portable quick program for creating bootable flash drives from ISO-images and flash drive formatting. You can download Rufus Portable free for 32 and 64-bit Windows (XP to 10). The utility supports 39 languages, including Russian.
Using Rufus you can
- Get information about the technical parameters of a USB drive;
- Format a USB flash drive, memory card, PenDrive or USB keys;
- create an installation flash drive or USB keys;
- flash or update BIOS (basic input/output system) from under DOS;
- install an operating system on a computer or notebook;
- run low-level system utilities – when the PC does not boot the operating system, you need to repair damaged sectors on the hard drive or you need to check the RAM;
- run games which require the original disk to work.
If Rufus detects that a non-Latin keyboard layout is used when creating a DOS boot disk, the program will choose the layout that corresponds to the user’s system settings and recommend FreeDOS by default – this free operating system supports more languages than MS DOS.
Rufus program works with ISO-images created by most common operating systems, as well as with several file systems, including NTFS, FAT32 and others.
Rufus utility is very lightweight (about 0.9 MB) and fast: according to the developers, it creates a bootable Windows 7, Windows 10 disk from an official ISO image twice as fast as analogs (for example, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool). In addition, the fully open source code allows interested users to develop and improve Rufus by offering their own add-ons. Download the latest version of Rufus Portable for free in Russian from the FreeSoft.ru server
Program analogues:
- FlashBoot;
- Etcher.
